U.P. TRAPPING & FUR CO.
“We craft heirlooms from the wilderness — pieces shaped by tradition, guided by respect for nature, made to endure generations.”

BEHIND U.P. TRAPPING & FUR CO.
Who We Are
U.P. Trapping and Fur Co. is a family-run atelier born in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula — a place where wilderness, winter, and tradition define craftsmanship.
Working with ethically sourced wild fur, we create limited heirloom pieces by hand, honoring generations of trapping knowledge and respect for nature.
Each piece is made slowly, produced in small numbers, and intended to last a lifetime.

Born of the Northern Wilderness
In Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, winter is not a season — it is a way of life. Our craft is shaped by harsh climates, deep forests, and generations who relied on skill, patience, and respect for nature. Every piece begins with this environment, carrying the character of the North into every stitch.

Crafted Slowly. Made to Endure.
Each trapper hat is individually constructed using ethically sourced wild fur and finished by hand in limited numbers. We value permanence over production, creating heirloom pieces designed to withstand decades of wear while growing richer with time.

Made in Limited Numbers
We produce only a small number of pieces each season, guided by craftsmanship rather than scale. Every hat is individually numbered and carefully inspected by hand, ensuring that what you own is not simply worn — but collected, preserved, and passed forward.

Refined Wilderness
A Legacy You Can Wear
Every piece we create reflects generations of knowledge shaped by the wilderness of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Using ethically sourced wild fur and traditional methods, our work honors both craft and nature.
Produced in limited numbers and finished by hand, each hat is designed to withstand time, weather, and changing trends — becoming an heirloom carried forward through years of wear.
